MICHAEL BYRNESExecutive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
In his role as Senior Vice President for Veolia’s Municipal and Commercial business, Mike leads the Business Development and Sales teams as they support the development and transition of energy and municipal water and wastewater projects. Additionally, he serves as the Principal in Charge and Chief Operating Officer for Peer Performance Solutions offerings and the SourceOne business. Since opening SourceOne’s New York office in 2002, Mike managed and led the office, playing an instrumental role in SourceOne’s continued growth. In addition, Mike is a highly experienced energy engineer and is expert in all aspects of power plant design, development and operation.
With more than 30 years of experience, Mike has worked with Trigen Energy Corporation, Dalkia North America, Con Edison and the U.S. Merchant Marine in both managerial and operational capacities. Through these roles, Mike’s energy engineering expertise has grown to include all aspects of distributed generation/power plant design, development and operation, combined heat and power projects and environmental permitting.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering & Nautical Science from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and an MBA from Long Island University.
LOU SCHOEN, LEED APVice President, Business Development
Lou Schoen serves as the vice president of business development for SourceOne, responsible for leading SourceOne’s national business development team and driving strategic development initiatives across the organization. Lou has over 25 years of experience working with municipal and commercial customers to develop comprehensive and cost-effective energy solutions to optimize efficiency and reliability. During his tenure at SourceOne he has been actively engaged in the development of some of the organizations largest accounts. Lou works closely with the SourceOne team and client teams at project kick-off to develop a clear understanding of the client goals, needs, and deliverables. Following project kick-off, Lou remains a client and project team resource throughout the project to foster communication and ensure client satisfaction.
Prior to SourceOne, Lou served at Nalco in various sales management and leadership positions where he was responsible for consistent business growth as well the development of the corporate Sustainable Development Platform. He serves as the chairman of the membership committee for the New York Energy Consumer’s Council (NYECC) and is widely recognized as a leader among New York’s commercial real estate community.
JACK GRIFFINVice President and GM Boston
Jack is the vice president and general manager of SourceOne’s Boston operations. He is a proven leader and has played a pivotal role in growing the SourceOne business. Jack is also a highly experienced engineer and an expert in all aspects of energy systems development and application.
Prior to his current role, Jack was SourceOne’s director of energy systems. His focus on energy strategic plans, energy efficiency programs, and energy systems development strengthens his ability to make strategic business decisions, while keeping operational impact and benefits in mind.
Prior to joining Source One, Jack held a variety of engineering, consulting and operational roles with NSTAR Electric & Gas, AECOM Energy, Eastern Enterprises, and Boston Gas. Jack worked on all aspects of electric utility operations.
BILL CALLAN, CEM, DCEPSenior Vice President and GM New York
Bill Callan is a key member of SourceOne’s senior management team and serves as the general manager for SourceOne’s New York office. He also launched and directs SourceOne’s mission critical systems quality control/ quality assurance program aimed at providing essential design document review, inspection services, testing oversight and start-up coordination of mission critical mechanical and electrical systems. Bill brings more than two decades of expertise in electrical design, testing and commissioning of mission critical power systems, telecommunications, HVAC, industrial controls, electrical sub-metering, energy management and contract administration.
Bill is an Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and is certified by the Department of Energy (DOE) as a Data Center Energy Practitioner (DCEP). During his tenure with SourceOne he has designed and managed the electrical renovation and new construction of numerous multi-million dollar energy projects for financial, commercial, institutional, educational, municipal and medical facilities.
BRANT DAVISVice President, Commodity Management
Brant has overall responsibility for SourceOne’s commodity management business, including direction of all competitive energy procurement activity on behalf of clients, and direction of all services provided by the SourceOne commodity management team.
Prior to joining SourceOne, Brant was with SourceOne’s parent company, Veolia, where he was heavily involved in optimization of fuel and power procurement supply for assets across the U.S. accounting for approximately 20 Bcf of natural gas and 125,000 MWh of power in annual load. Prior to his work at Veolia he was with Deloitte Consulting for 12 years where he provided strategic and operational management consulting services to the electric utility and heavy asset manufacturing industries. In addition to a deep operational understanding of national power and gas markets, he has a broad range of energy related experience ranging from M&A for large utilities, to operational implementation of advanced metering.
Brant holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University and also received his Master's in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina.
